Dhoom 2 is a Bollywood action heist film that was directed by Sanjay Gadhvi under the Yash Raj banner. It is the sequel to Dhoom (2004) and the prequel to Dhoom 3 (2013). The movie stars Hrithik Roshan as A/Aryan and Aishwarya Rai as Sunehri, while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprise their roles from the 2004 movie. The movie was a blockbuster hit, just like its other counterparts. The Dhoom 2 soundtrack became the best-selling Bollywood soundtrack of the year, with hit songs like Crazy Kiya Re by Sunidhi Chauhan, Dil Laga Na by multiple singers, and Dhoom Again, the movie series’ signature song, by Vishal Dadlani and Dominique Cerejo.
As a continuance to its first part, Dhoom 2 sees determined police officer Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and newly-promoted police officer Ali (Uday Chopra), along with special officer Shonali Bose, who is also Jai’s ex-classmate, chasing an ace burglar A (Hrithik Roshan). A is known for stealing valuable and rare artefacts and antiques from all around the world. He is extremely intelligent and cunning, has never been caught, and always follows a pattern that ends with him leaving his signature mark, an A symbol, after he successfully completes each of his robberies. After several failed attempts, Jai decides to employ Sunehri (Aishwarya Rai), who is also a thief, and instructs her to fool A by making him believe that she worships and idolises his talent. Initially, A falls for Sunehri’s disguise, and lets her be his partner. The relation between the two soon evolves from just partners in crime to lovers. But A soon finds out the truth about her after spotting her with Jai in a movie theatre first, and then at a parade. She is feeding Jai information about A both times. A must now decide whether to let Sunehri go and continue with his thievery, or to find a way to outsmart Jai Dixit while maintaining his relationship with Sunehri.
